children and youth.

Bird Dog Development Research Resources – a host of research resources developed by professional

Foundation Center – view 990’s for US grant makers, view statistics on grant makers, on-line courses on
grant writing, tips on reading the 990, and more. Extensive funders' database by subscription.

Foundations.org - A directory of charitable grant makers.

Grants.gov - Provides a unified site for interaction between grant applicants and the US Federal
agencies that manage grant funds.

Grantstationan interactive website that allows grant seekers to identify potential funding sources for
their programs or projects. Some areas require subscription.

Don Griesmann’s Grant Opportunities  – an e-newsletter from Charity Channel

Guidestar – limited information without a membership.  Includes information and IRS Form 990s for grant
makers and other non-profits.

Hoover’s Online – a user-friendly tool for finding basic company information and news.

Houston History – biographies of prominent Houstonians.

Houston Public Library – includes fund raising literature.  Central library has additional resources for
grant seekers.

David Lamb’s Prospect Research Page – includes links for company and executive information.

Nonprofit Resource Center of Texas – subscription access to database to research foundations.

Tech Soup - technology resource aimed at nonprofit organizations featuring NPO discounts, discussions,
articles, and recommendations.

Texas Nonprofits - provides data that facilitates connections between the 80,000+ nonprofit
organizations with the 4,000+ charitable foundations in the state of Texas, major philanthropic
corporations and sharing individuals.

United Way of Greater Houston – information related to nonprofit issues, as well as a library of fund
raising literature, a job bank and funding opportunities.
